Fatehpur Sikri is one among the Group of Monuments in Agra, Constructed by Mughal Emperor Akbar in the 16th Century, This Place is also one among the famous and Most Visited tourist Attractions along with Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

The Specialty of Fatehpur Sikri is its Gateway Door known as Darwaja, The Height of the Darwaja is 57M(177 ft) Long. There are many Hallways, Gateways, Palaces in Fatehpur Sikri. This Place is used as a Temporary Stay For Mughal Emperors.

History

Fatehpur Sikri is located in Agra District of Uttar Pradesh State, This City is known as ” The City of Victory“. This City was made as a Capital city by the Mughal Emperor Akbar from 1571 to 1585. The Constructed Started in the year 1571 and Completed in 1573.

This was made as a Capital City of Mughal Emperors and they built many buildings like administrative buildings, Judicial, palaces, Gardens, Public Places, Rooms for Servants, and also Swimming Pools. Later in 1585 the Capital City was moved from Agra to Lahore, From then it was used as a Temporarily Stay Place for Mughal Emperors, Whenever they visit this Place, They would have resting time here. From 1610 this place became completely Abandoned.

Fatehpur Sikri Sits on Hilly Rock, It is bordered by a 6 km Wall and The Fort Length is 3 km and width is 1 km. The Construction Material used is the same as for Agra Fort, It is Red Sandstone and also few White Marble is also used to Construct Walls and Floors of Palaces.

The Chisels made on Walls to Achieve Lattice Squares are perfect. The Ventilation is Superb. Also, Swimming Pools are Constructed in a Symmetric Pattern. The Darwaja height is 57M(177 ft).
