Khangchendzonga

Khangchendzonga is a Chinese Pronunciation, But The Original Name is Kanchenjunga, Which actually originated from Kachana Ganga, The Actual meaning of Kanchana Ganga is Lord Shiva and Ganga Devi. But here the Khangcehndzonga is discussed because of its National Park in Sikkim.

The Khanchunjenga Peak is the Worlds 3rd Highest Peak and it is about 8300 m. The Total Park area is Spread about 830 Sq Km. This park is famous for a wide variety of Bird Species and also this is home to 1/3rd of India’s Bird Diversity, Wild Trees, and also Flowering Plants.

Khangchendzonga Geography

This Place is situated between the North and West Sikkim parts of India, It has an elevation of 1800m to 8000m and almost spread around 850 sq km. The Flora and Fauna are very rich in Khanchendzonga National Park, Many Birds like oaks, fir, birch, maple, and Willow.

The Vegetation of Park has many Alpine types of grass and many medicinal herbs and plants which cure many diseases. This has both cultural and Natural Importance, It is naturally created and at the same time completely developed by human interference.

This is the First Indian Place where it is given World Heritage Site status based on Mixed Heritage Criteria, Which Means both Cultural and Natural Categories in 2016 by UNESCO.

This Site has many Cultural Influences and also Government of India took utmost care and expanded this park and also cultivated many medicinal herbs and grass. Also, this is a Naturally Formed Site, Based on the Mixed Criteria which means which satisfies both Cultural and Natural Categories, This is the First Mixed Category Site Granted by UNESCO in 2016.

Best Season to Visit

Summers are the Best season to Visit this Site especially between March and May, Winter season starts with snowfall between September to November.

Climate Effect

Due to Ongoing Global Warming throughout the world, Many Glaciers and Mountains have melted down, there is a potential impact of Climate Change on Khangchendzonga.

You need to completely have a body check-up, Because it is at a high altitude, You may face health issues depending on your body type, The Entry Ticket cost is 350 for Indians and 560 for Foreigners.
